In order for a translation to be valid, the translation must be performed by someone who swears to be competent in both the document’s source language and English and said translator must sign a statement declaring that the translation is true and correct to the best of their knowledge. 


Many people claim to be “bilingual” and capable of translating documentation to English for official use.
